A Surprise Gift

“A package” my husband explained, “will soon be arriving in the mail.”

Eagerly anticipating that he was creatively keeping my Christmas gift a surprise, I listened intently grinning from ear to ear.

“When it arrives,” he said. “Just wrap it and give it to me for Christmas.”

My smile faded, a few things went through my mind and a couple of things came out of my mouth.

Then, I remembered the intention I set to keep Christmas simple.

My husband had picked out, ordered and purchased his own gift – how much simpler could it get?

Wow . . .

“Sometimes life delivers our intentions packaged in ways we would never expect.”
