The Power Within
Earlier today we lost our power. Whenever this happens I find myself thinking about what I can and can’t do around the house.
I can take a shower, but I can’t dry my hair. I can wash dishes, but I can’t do laundry. I can dust, but I can’t vacuum. And, even though I know the lights won’t work, I find myself flipping the switch when I enter the room.
It’s a habit.
As I reflected on this, I started thinking about the power we have within us. We have the power to choose love in a hateful situation, the power to choose peace when surrounded by stress and the power to let go even when it is scary to do so.
Instead of flipping the switch, we sometimes walk around in the dark nurturing our negative emotions. Today’s short power outage reminded me that the power within me is always available. It’s up to me to tap into it.
WOW . . .
“Flip the switch and use your power.”
