In Labor

If Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer, this year summer has been extended because Labor Day is as late as it can possibly be.

Though always on the first Monday of September, when Labor Day falls on the 7th it reminds me of the year my son was born. After enjoying a large shrimp boil, I went into labor on Labor Day.

My son was officially born the following day on September 8.

This happens to be the same day we celebrate the birth of the Virgin Mary. As we celebrate her birth, we also celebrate her son, Jesus.

I recently read something in scripture that I don’t remember ever seeing before. That is;

“For we are God’s co-workers”
1 Corinthians 3:9

While I have long understood the concept, these words seemed to jump off the page for me.

What a job.

What a privilege.

What a responsibility.

No matter how we labor in life, let us remember for and with whom we are working.

Wow . . .

“Do Good work.”

Here’s to more WOW Moments!
