Matter of Fact

This week I attended a meeting I hadn’t been to in a while. Entering a room full of professionals with even more participating through Zoom; I got my nametag, spoke to a few people and then found an available seat in the back of the room.

Once the meeting began and I got settled in, I noticed that I was sitting right behind a colleague that I worked with on a project and felt a soulful connection with at the time. I looked forward to speaking to her during a break or after the meeting.

It was then that she was called forward, to the front of the room, to introduce the speaker. As she eloquently spoke about the speaker, she also scanned the room.

When she did, we made eye contact. Then, in the middle of her introduction and in front of a large audience, she paused to greet me.

It was a bit surreal.

In that moment, I felt seen. I felt welcomed, grateful and full of life.

As I pondered this more, I was reminded of how important it is to be seen and to know that we are seen.

This matters.

We matter.

I matter.

You matter.

It’s a matter of fact.

Even though we may sometimes feel like hiding. We never really can.

The truth is, we are always seen. And, we are loved.

No. Matter. What.

It’s nice to hear this from others along the way.

Together, let’s share this message. Somehow helping others know this, helps us too.

Wow . . .

“You are seen and you are loved.”

Here’s to more WOW Moments!
