My Drive

As I was driving to a fun family event, enjoying the beautiful fall colors along the way, I reflected on years gone by,

There was a time when fall would draw near and I would set my sights on going somewhere special to enjoy this beautiful season.

I would easily become disappointed when the trip, the get away, the intended outcome was never realized.

The realization that came with this moment, is that life for me now is less about a destination and more about the journey.

The fall colors are all around me. Right here and right now. I can savor the sight, breathe in the beauty and appreciate the joy it brings me.
