On The Road

This week I have been reflecting on the Risen Jesus on The Road to Emmaus. Walking with two of His disciples, they don’t even recognize Him.

It makes me think about how often we too miss His presence when He is right there with us  - every step of the way.

It’s easy to do.

We get so focused on ourselves, on our situations and somehow compartmentalize Jesus – or maybe even forget about Him completely at times.

Fortunately, He doesn’t hold that against us. He keeps showing up – Moment after Moment.

Giving us glimpses of heaven.

Reminding us to trust Him, always.

Then, as humans, we forget.

Again.

We rebel.

We complain.

We resent what is happening.

Until, that is, we remember.

Again.

Someone or something opens our eyes.

We see and feel His presence.

We know He is alive.

He fills us up and Wow’s us.

We are back on the road.

Wow . . .

“Again.”
