The Charge
How do you charge for what you do?
That was the question I was asked after several impromptu soulful conversations that seemed to provide an outlet for some bottled up and unspoken thoughts, feelings and heartfelt emotions.
I don’t actually charge – was my response - I accept donations to offset my expenses.
I have a “suggested amount” for a 30 minute call.
I bet some of you can guess how much that is. :)
I spell it out for folks when they click for more information.
We continued to chat, impromptu.
With tears welling up in her eyes, I felt the soulful connection we had.
“He sent you to me,” she said.
I was grateful to help out – by being present and listening.
We ended with a hug and I went to a scheduled appointment I had with a leader in a Christian Organization that I wanted to learn more about.
It was another fruitful conversation and one that aligned well with me as I listened and learned how, as she said, the Lord brought the organization together.
Later that afternoon, I attended a zoom session where the facilitators spoke about the spiritual dimension of life. While I resonated with much of it – some of it, I did not.
Three different spirit-filled scenarios. All on the same day. It gave me much to ponder.
I’m nearing nine months in this new chapter, one where I have a newfound freedom to choose how and with whom I spend my time. I want to spend it wisely and on purpose.
Exploring options brings clarity. We notice what resonates and what doesn’t, where we align and where we don’t.
We also get a sense, from what some people call a “higher power” and I call the Holy Spirit, of what we are charged to do.
That’s it!
That’s my charge.
To speak the truth and call it what it is.
Wow . . .
“Be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient.”
