A Fruitful Message

Somewhat randomly, I shared with a few people that when I’m ready to do more volunteer work I would look into Hospice.

The next day, on our way home from eating out, my husband asked if I wanted to stop by the bookstore.

“Sure,” I said.

While I hadn’t been in a long while, I actually had plans to meet a friend there the next day for coffee.

As we walked into the store and went our separate ways, the first book I was drawn to was written by a Hospice Nurse who writes about her experiences with end of life moments – wow.

I continued to browse and when the store announced it would soon close, I decided to buy the book when I returned the next day.

When I arrived the next day I was approached by a young girl who gave me a coupon. She explained that if I presented it to the cashier, a portion of the sales would go to the ballet company with which she was affiliated.

As I engaged in conversation with her, I saw the passion in her eyes as she spoke about ballet. My soul wanted to say, “May you keep passion alive in your life, always.”

Making my way to the café, I glanced over at the table that held multiple copies of the book I intended to buy. The young ballerina’s mother was standing by the table and mouthed “Thank you” to me.

I smiled, nodded and felt like I was living fully in that moment.

Feeling like I had already had my share of caffeine for the morning, I asked the barista what cold tea they had that was caffeine free.

“Passion Fruit,” she said.

“Of course,” I thought.

I told her I would wait for my friend before ordering.

When my friend arrived, she said she wanted something cold without caffeine.

I ordered two large Passion Fruit Teas and continued to enjoy the synchronicity of it all.

It was fun to chat, catch up and talk about the things that we were and were no longer interested in. At the end, the conversation landed on discussing our life purpose.

Reflecting on this afterwards, it became clear to me that living on purpose includes paying attention to life, noticing the nudges, acting accordingly and making following Him our top priority.

In doing so, I believe we live life more fully and we help build His kingdom just as we are called to do.

Wow . . .

“Passion for Him bears fruit.”

Here’s to more WOW Moments!
