A Lead

I saw a post on LinkedIn announcing a new hire at a local organization.

Even though I didn’t know her, I decided to send her a message to congratulate her.

When I typed in her name, an exchange of messages we had with one another came up. It was from 7 years ago.

“Wait, do I know her?” I wondered.

She had reached out to me after reading an article I wrote for the newspaper and I responded back to thank her.

She definitely sounded like someone I would want to meet.

So here it was, seven years later, and we are exchanging messages again. This time, it led to us meeting in person for coffee.

As we chatted, I learned a lot about her - including the fact that the reason she read my article was because her husband happened to buy the paper that day and it happened to resonate deeply with her.

We weren’t even living in the same town then, and we still aren’t - yet.

As I pondered this meeting, the moments that led up to it and the fruits it may bear, I sat in amazement at the beauty of life and the incredible ways things can unfold if we but take action.

Small, simple, inspired steps - one at a time.

I believe God gives us inspired action steps along the way.

Life, for me, is about listening to this guidance and acting accordingly.
