Living From Within

A friend and I chatted about the idea of “living from within” at the beginning of the year and I have been pondering it ever since.

I am learning that, for me, it is less about seeking opportunities and more about being open to them.

It’s about His will, not mine.

It’s about following the inspiration rather than any aspiration.

When I remember and follow this way of being, life is good.

It’s so easy to cling to the old way of doing things. This is the reason I have a weekly session with someone who helps me remember.

The temptation is to live life and make choices based on our comfort, or what the world thinks is power or by our pride - putting ourselves at the center of our world.

The church gives us opportunities – like the 40 days of Lent – to fine tune and refocus our lives.

In choosing to be more prayerful, we better attune to and connect with our inner life.

Cutting back or fasting from things that have become distractions or our securities, allows us to readjust our priorities and put first things first.

And, when we participate in more or more intentional almsgiving – donating to the poor – we detach ourselves from material goods and practice more compassion.

I don’t know about you, but this is right on time for me.

Life is less about our destination and more about our journey.

Thankfully, we are given guidance on how to live it well.

Wow . . .

“Listen carefully.”

Here’s to more WOW Moments!

💛 Lucy
