My Best Friend
It was during my junior high school years when I had this realization. I can’t remember if someone pointed this out to me , or if it was something that just came to me.
It had to do with the term, “best friend”. To me, this implied one person.
Since I had a group of friends and didn’t want to cause conflict, I decided that Jesus would be my best friend. Everyone else would be a “really good friend”, “close friend” or something else.
It’s all semantics, I know. I also know words matter.
Which brings me back to my best friend.
Like the song states, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”
For me, His words matter most.
We have been commanded to “love one another”.
I believe this begins with knowing that we are loved.
He is always with us, whether we feel it or know it. We are never alone.
We can talk to Him, hang out with Him, laugh and cry with Him.
He understands us better than we will ever understand ourselves.
Spending time with Him, giving Him thanks and praise, is life changing.
He is the best.
It doesn’t get any better than this.
Wow . . .
“He is the One.”
Here’s to more WOW Moments!
