New Growth

In this season of dryness, while watering our lawn, I was surprised to see some new growth at the edge of our yard.

While difficult to stay green under these conditions, there were bright new vibrant blades growing in the midst of a drought.

I pondered how this was even possible.

Maybe, I thought, it’s because it receives the early morning light and stays protected throughout the day.

As I gazed at this grass, I began to think about life.

I thought about the seasons that we go through.

I also thought about how important receiving the morning light, by reading His word, is for me. It has a way of grounding and protecting me throughout the day.

Even when dryness abounds, there is an opportunity to grow, to learn and to love better.

Wow . . .
