No Turning Back
We were headed to the beach, almost halfway there, when it hit me.
I knew there was no turning back.
It’s hard to explain the feeling that came over me.
There was a strong inner sensation. I felt it from my heart to my gut. It was as if my insides collapsed.
Then I spoke the words out loud, “I forgot my pool bag.”
Ugh.
How could I forget what seemed like one of the most important items needed for this trip?
“What was in your pool bag?” my daughter asked.
As I spoke about the items, I realized I actually had extra and similar items packed in other bags. I even had an extra bag I could use as a pool bag.
I decided to let it go and focus on the successful things I did to plan, prepare and pack for the trip.
I gave thanks for all these things.
This made me feel good again.
The truth is, I have everything I need. Sometimes what seems like a very important thing, really isn’t.
Keeping first things first, putting things in perspective and giving thanks changes everything.
It’s the truth.
Wow . . .
“It’s in the bag.”
