Reimagine

My parents came to visit us in our new home for the first time. I was excited to make the short trip – now only 90 minutes – to pick them up and bring them here.

On the way my mom said, “I know you have a new home, but I can only imagine your old one.”

“I understand.” I said to her and have been pondering that thought ever since.

Our minds seem to file away and hold on to images that are often hard to replace without some focused or intentional effort.

In fact when we were looking at potential homes to buy, I found myself looking for what I already had even though I wanted something different.

Interesting, right?

When we looked at our current home, I couldn’t imagine living in it.

It was so different.

It took a moment.

A moment to reimagine our lives going forward.

I am forever grateful for that moment.

It was a moment that was almost missed.

I was getting a bit frustrated and ready to give up on the idea of it all.

Instead, that moment invited me back.

I accepted the invitation.

I opened up to what was new and different and divinely orchestrated.

It was something that I couldn’t have imagined on my own.

Wow . . .

“Open up to what is possible.”

Here’s to more WOW Moments!
