A Shift

Our shared home office houses a leather recliner which is considered “mine”.

My husband is so generous. 😊

This chair is where I sit to have my morning quiet time. He knows how important that is to me.

When setting up the room, I needed the chair to be positioned in a very particular way. It needed to be angled to face the window in front, while still allowing me to view the hallway in the back. It needed to be close enough to the side table so that I could comfortably place my coffee on the electric warmer (game changer), with the floor lamp near enough behind me for me to turn on while sitting.

With all these things in place, I could only recline half-way. This would raise my feet up which was really the main reason for the recliner.

The other day I sat in this chair after dinner. As I started to recline, something told me to continue pushing back. For the first time, I kept going and was fully reclined.

What a great stretch.

“What changed?” I wondered.

That’s when I remembered slightly shifting the chair when cleaning.

I hadn’t realized that with this slight shift I was now facing the window more with my back to the hallway and the floor lamp to my side which allowed me to fully recline.

As I lay there fully reclined, I pondered this situation. I realized my need to view the hallway was from times past when, as a mom, I wanted to monitor the comings and goings of the kids.

Wow . . .

Here’s to more WOW Moments!
