My mom turned 90 this week. We surprised her with a family celebration.
It was such a fun and joyful experience.
When I spoke to her the next day, she said it was like a dream.
This made me think about life and how it plays out.
There are those extra special moments, so special that they overwhelm us with such delight and almost seem unreal – like a dream.
Then there are other moments, those that seem so unbelievable - for different reasons, and can feel like a living nightmare.
Either way, this side of heaven, they are just moments.
What matters most is how we choose to live, even and especially, in tough times.
We are given guidance on how to do this. That is, to love God with all our heart, soul and mind. And, to love one another.
For me, the goal in life is to become a saint and live eternally with God.
The ultimate cloud nine.
