Yes, You May

On my drive down to visit my mom,  I started thinking about that childhood game I used to play called “Mother, May I?”

My memory of the game is that there would be a line of kids all wanting to advance forward towards the leader, or so called “mother”.

The players would need to ask permission to take a certain amount and size of step.

The “mother” would either grant that permission or not.

As I pondered this more, I thought about how we seem to spend part of our lives seeking permission from others.

Then, once we have the freedom to choose for ourselves, we somehow find a way to deny ourselves the permission we need to move forward.

Life is such a game.

Maybe the best way to play is to be a better, kinder, and more compassionate “mother” to ourselves.

Give yourself permission.

Wow . . .

“Take a giant step forward.”

Here’s to more WOW Moments!
