Art of Appreciation

Visiting with my sisters in a nearby town where we meet half-way, we decided to stroll through an art gallery after lunch before getting coffee.

Entering one of the rooms in the gallery, there was a distinct and different vibe present. One of my sisters quickly noticed what was in the corner of the room.

“Look,” she said. “They are collecting old pill bottles that need to be turned in.”

“No,” I responded. “That’s an art display.”

As she tried to convince me otherwise we got so tickled and soon were laughing loudly and almost uncontrollably.

While we in no way intended to be disrespectful, it certainly could have come across this way.

That’s when the museum attendant told us how the artist would have appreciated the laughter.

I really appreciated hearing that.

She then went on to explain the meaning behind the art display that overflowed with prescription bottles.

Later, as I reflected on this and laughed some more, I was reminded of how much I have to appreciate.

It makes me very grateful.

Wow . . .

“Laughter really is the best medicine.”

Here’s to more WOW Moments!
