Be The Sunshine

A few months ago, I planned a road trip to meet and spend some time with a friend.

Our plan was to  reconnect, catch up and process some of life’s challenges. We chose a location that would provide a scenic view, walking trails and near by lodging.

As the day approached, the forecast called for more and more rain.

I decided to embrace whatever the whether conditions were and reminded myself it was about spending time together.

The morning I was to leave, I could hear how hard it was raining outside. I felt myself somewhat dreading the drive and wishing things were different.

As I continued with my morning devotion, I read a line from Psalm 100.

“Come with joy into the presence of the Lord.”

Suddenly the rain stopped.

The silence was very noticeable.

It warmed my heart and made me smile. I knew whose presence I was in.

My mind shifted and I remembered that I can always choose joy.

I started looking forward to what was ahead, even when I heard the rain begin again.

Wow . . .

“Come with joy.”

Here’s to more WOW Moments!
