By Name

I attended a workshop this weekend that, among other things, reminded us of how unique we are each created and that there is no one else exactly like us.

That we have each been given a particular purpose - not given to anyone else.

That God designed each of us with distinct temperaments, talents, gifts, strengths and weaknesses to fulfill a specific role in His plan.

When we gathered into small groups, I was so surprised that there was not one, but two other Lucy’s in my group.

It was as if God was saying, “Even if people have your same name,

‘I have called YOU by name: you are mine.”
Isaiah 43:1

There is something so comforting in knowing that we each belong to Him, that He is always with us, and that we need not be afraid.

And, there is quite the responsibility of living out our purpose knowing that we each have a unique and divine calling, not given to anyone else and if we don’t do it, it won’t get done.

I believe we must seek guidance on purpose.

Wow . . .
