Rock On

One Fall, many years ago, I was sprucing things up around the house and thought about replacing the bench on our front porch with a couple of rocking chairs. I had always liked the idea of this.

Our porch wasn’t very deep but I figured if I angled them just right it would work. I decided to surprise my husband with this purchase – which is always a good way to avoid getting his opinion when I feel so strongly about doing something.

I made it our “anniversary gift” and shared that I wanted us to grow old together. It was well received.

We still have those rocking chairs and I’ve added two more since I felt a strong call to do so while walking through a consignment store shortly after moving to our new home – which allows for more space to do so.

I’m really drawn to rocking chairs.

A few years back, I had an experience with one. It happened after reading “The Rocking Chair Prophet” by Matthew Kelly. I am still processing it.

What I do know is that one of my favorite things to do now is to grab a cup of coffee and sit in the rocking chairs just outside the coffee shop – pictured above. I do it with myself, with friends, with family and with people I am meeting for the first time.

It’s the perfect spot for a soulful conversation.

It never gets old.

Wow . . .

“Do what you love.”

Here’s to more WOW Moments!
