What A Ride

It was a year ago today and it still boggles my mind.

We came to Pinehurst for a weekend visit and a belated anniversary celebration.

We were also checking out the area to see if it might be a future place for us to live – years down the road – maybe.

We wanted to attend Mass, go out to dinner, drive around and possible visit some open houses. We did all those things and by lunchtime on Sunday we were discussing the house that we were drawn to and felt called to make our home.

The rest is history and happened fast.

We made an offer, had our Greensboro home on the market within two weeks, received two offers on the first day and closed on both houses 30 days later.

It was a whirlwind and a roller coaster ride all at once. There were many ups and downs through the process.

We never know what life has in store for us. What I do know, for sure, is that we must be open to receive it.

If we are not open, there is very little that can get through to us.

I’m learning the importance of paying attention to the initial and divine invitation to do something. When this is clear, and clearly from God – the rest doesn’t matter as much.

Because, what typically happens is that we will be tempted to doubt, to believe it was a mistake and to second guess ourselves over and over.

That’s when we must return to what we know is the truth.

With the assurance that it is God who is calling us to do something, we can always return to this knowing and trust Him.

It’s important that we learn to pay attention and hear his voice.

Does this mean the journey forward will always be a blissful one?

Absolutely not.

After all, we still carry our baggage with us – wherever we go.

In time and maybe with some help, we can choose to let things go, to Reimagine, and to ponder The Wonder of It All.

As scary as it is at times on the roller coaster of life, we can raise our hands up high, scream if we want and surrender it all to Him.

Wow . . .

“Praise God!”

Here’s to more WOW Moments!
