Underlining Message
From my kitchen sink I could look out two full windowed doors to see our back porch and nature’s beauty. Tons of light came in through those doors and it brightened up the whole space.
That is, until we had shades put up. It wasn’t so much the shades as it was the lining I was talked into getting.
When the installer came to measure, he assured me that I would want to have the lining added.
“You will like it so much better,” he said.
I didn’t.
I felt like I was boxed in.
The room became so much darker.
It was uncomfortable and not how I wanted to live.
“People choose this because it offers much better curb appeal,” the installer said.
“I am not trying to appeal to the outside world,” I thought.
“Without the lining you will have more light, but it will reduce your privacy,” he continued.
“I am not trying to keep my light private, I want it to shine through,” I said to myself.
Thankfully, he was very accommodating and reordered the custom made shades without the lining.
Wow . . .
“Never underestimate the power of light in your life.”
Here’s to more WOW Moments!
