Waste Not

Recently I’ve been turning on my battery operated candle while I enjoy my morning quiet time. It’s been so nice.

I thoroughly enjoy the ambience a candle offers. It seems to sooth my soul and brings me joy.

As I watched the candle glow and the flame flicker, I questioned the reason I hadn’t done this sooner or more often. The answer came quickly and was very clear.

I didn’t want to waste the battery.

The real waste, I thought, was not using something I really enjoy.

Then I began to ponder what else I might be trying to conserve unnecessarily.

The more things came to mind, the more I was reminded that life is now.

Wow . . .
